Weasel and the Bug

I first came across Weasel and the Bug just before Christmas whilst trying to find The Perfect Dress for Cora's first Christmas! Well, her first Christmas really was last year when she was 6 weeks old, but we'll not count that. She spent the day milk drunk in a white baby grow! This year with family over from Australia and a headstrong one year old – I had to up my game.

We searched an searched and I went into Chester in mid December with the sole aim of coming home with the perfect dress. I spotted Weasel and the Bug, a delightfully colourful treasure trove of wooden toys, dolls and puzzles. There, hiding in the back left hand corner was a small selection of beautiful outfits for little girls and little boys and after a small flick through the rack, I spotted 'the one'!

I hope you'll agree Cora looks pretty darn adorable in her Christmas dress!

Katie, the owner, is so lovely and kind, the type of person you become firm friends with in no time at all. I was so sorry to hear that shortly after Christmas the shop suffered a flood and had to close for several weeks to put everything straight again. They reopened yesterday (hooray!) so Cora and I popped in today to pick up some beautiful new toys – including these awesome animal skittles and this fab bracelet and necklace set – or 'pretty pretties' as Cora calls them!

I implore anyone with little ones of their own to go and pay Katie a visit. Weasel and the Bug is one of a kind in today's toy market, stocking beautiful traditional toys fuelled by imagination instead of batteries.

"A lot has changed at the Slinky studio in the past 18 months. Most notably, the move to our gorgeous new studio (yay!) and the arrival of Baby Slinky (double yay!) Since her arrival, I naturally have a much greater insight into my clients' day to day. I feel like I've tried every product and every class available to us Wirral mums so this new blog series is my input into 'what's hot and not'! It's not sponsored, affiliated or in any way a business arrangement.

Just my experience and Cora's."
